We live in a Mediterranean climate area, particularly dry both in summer and winter.

The 22nd of March last was World Water Day, which reminded us of the importance of such a valuable -yet increasingly scarce- resource. We live in a Mediterranean climate area, particularly dry both in summer and winter. Climate change and global warming are making the situation even worse by causing severe drought periods. That's why we must make very conscious use of it and save it whenever we can.

At the harbour, we can reduce the use of water if we follow this advice: Will you help us?

  • Connect the water hose first and turn the tap off before disconnecting it. Don't leave the tap on while you're cleaning the surface of your boat.
  • Use interruptable diffusers while your hose is connected to the water point of the harbour.
  • When using the sanitary facilities of the harbour, limit the water used and make sure every tap and shower is turned off after you use them.
  • Let the staff know if you find any water leaks at the service turrets or the water supply points.
  • Use faucet aerators: they mix water and air giving you the same comforting feeling. This measure allows us to save more than 50% of the amount of water used.
  • Shower instead of bathing. You'll save a lot of water every single time.
  • Turn the tap off while you shave or brush your teeth.
  • If you hand-wash your dishes, don't leave the tap on. Use one sink to wash and the other one to rinse.
