The MedFoto exhibition at the Club attracts nearly 800 visitors

Today, Tuesday 31st August, The Sea and the People exhibition closes its doors. A collection of the 43 finalist images of the MedFoto competition that has been on view in the Club’s Boardroom since 31st July. During these 31 days, almost 800 people have come to visit the show, which exhibits the best proposals presented at the first Mediterranean Photography Contest, a joint initiative between the Club and the Fundació Alive

More than 600 images submitted

The jury of the competition, made up of five experts from the world of photography and the marine environment, was responsible for selecting these images from among the 600 entries received by the organisation.

Juvenil de Rap (Young Monkfish), by the photographer Xavier Salvador, was the winner of the exhibition and he sets the benchmark for this achievement in a competition that is already preparing its second edition. The overall winners, as well as those of the different proposed categories were announced on 31st July in a virtual event that took place by Zoom and which was attended by more than thirty people.

One goal, one commitment

The inaugural edition of MedFoto has also achieved its objective: to raise awareness of the environmental and human values of the Mediterranean Sea. A commitment made by the two organising entities, the Club Nàutic l’Escala and the Fundació Alive, which they have renewed thus giving the competition continuity.
